Phillip Roy Crow, 91, died December 7, 2012 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 16, 1921 in Hutchinson, the son of Phillip Ladd and Grace W. Wilson Crow.
A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, Phillip was a graduate of Hutchinson High School, and attended Hutchinson Community College. He was a Major in the Army Air Corps, serving as a pilot with the 417th Bombardment Group during WWII. His memberships included the Bob Campbell V.F.W. Post #1361 and Ninnescah Yacht Club at Cheney Reservoir where he served as Harbor Master. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, gardening, spending summers sailing, at times making his own sails. Phillip was retired from International Harvester Co. as a farm implement salesman.
On December 15, 1941 he married Wanda Corrine Crow. They were married for 69 years before her death October 3, 2010.
He is survived by: his children, Mike and wife Cilla of Topeka, Pat and wife Kim of Firestone, CO, Tom and wife Jeanne of Duncan, OK, daughter Janna Dempsey and husband Martin of Abilene; brothers, Frank and Jack of Hutchinson, and Bill of Branson, MO; sisters, Joyce Crow, of Hutchinson, Pat Goracke, of Aspen, CO, and Judy Crow, of Germany; eight grandchildren, Andy, Toby Kristine, Sara, Kelly, Katie, John, Matt and Andrew; and seven great-grandchildren; Jake, Luke, Dylan, Kailor, Jalen, Grayson and Ary.
He was preceded in death by: a son, James Timothy; his parents; brother, Dale; and a sister, Charlene.
Graveside service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson with Pastor Todd Schlosser presiding. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with family present from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home.
