Aletha "Dean" Stotts
1925 - 2014

Aletha "Dean" Stotts, 88, died April 10, 2014 at Asbury Park, Inc., Newton. She was born July 27, 1925 in Dodge City, the daughter of Herbert and Abigail Smith Rupert. A graduate of Dodge City High School, she had been a resident of Hutchinson most of her life. She was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson. She married Bernard Stotts on October 12, 1949 in Dodge City. He died April 6, 2001.

Survivors include 2 nieces LaDonna Smith, Newton and Mary Kay Bottomley and husband Dave, Hutchinson, and 3 nephews, Ralph Smith, Jr., Newton, Larry Stotts and wife Jane, Hutchinson, and Robert Stotts, Wichita.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Melvin Rupert and 2 sisters, Maggie Smith and Eleanor Orrill.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 AM Wed. at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Bill Eichelberger presiding. Visitation will be held from 9AM to 9PM Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson.
